Strong 8K on Samsung and LG Smart TV
No sideloading required. Samsung Tizen and LG webOS sets both have suitable players in their own app stores.
Before you start
- A Samsung or LG smart TV from 2017 or newer
- Your Strong 8K M3U link or Xtream details
Install a player
Open your TV app store and search for an IPTV player. On Samsung, IPTV Smarters and similar players are available; on LG, look in the LG Content Store. Install the one you prefer.
Note your device key
Some players show a MAC address or device key on first launch and ask you to register it on the developer website. If yours does, follow that step before continuing, as the player will not load a playlist until it is registered.
Add your Strong 8K details
Choose to add a playlist, then either paste your M3U link or enter the Xtream server, username and password from your account. Xtream is worth preferring here because it gives you a proper programme guide.
Wait for the first load
Smart TV processors are modest, so the initial channel list can take two or three minutes to appear. Do not restart the app while it is loading; it will get there.
Worth knowing
- If the app crashes on a big channel list, hide the channel groups you never watch. That alone fixes most smart TV performance complaints.
- Older sets before 2017 often struggle. A cheap Fire Stick or Android box plugged into HDMI gives a much better experience than fighting the TV.
