Strong 8K on Amazon Fire TV Stick
The most popular way to watch Strong 8K. Takes about five minutes, and the only slightly awkward part is the very first download.
Before you start
- Your Fire Stick connected to Wi-Fi
- Your Strong 8K login details
- A few minutes of patience
Allow apps from unknown sources
From the Fire Stick home screen go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options. Turn on "Apps from Unknown Sources". If Developer Options is missing, go to Settings, My Fire TV, About, and click the Fire TV Stick line seven times to reveal it.
Install the Downloader app
Search the Amazon appstore for "Downloader" and install it. This is the small utility that fetches the Strong 8K app, because the app is not distributed through the Amazon store itself.
Fetch the Strong 8K app
Open Downloader, type the code shown on our Apps page into the box, and press Go. Let the download finish, then choose Install when prompted. You can delete the downloaded file afterwards to save space.
Enter your login details
Open Strong 8K and choose Xtream Codes login. Type in the server URL, username and password exactly as they appear in your account, taking care with capital letters. Give it a moment to pull the channel list.
Let the guide build
The first launch downloads the full channel list and programme guide, which can take a couple of minutes. This only happens once. After that the app opens straight into your channels.
Worth knowing
- A Fire Stick that has been on for weeks gets sluggish. Unplugging it for ten seconds before setup fixes a surprising number of odd problems.
- If the app installs but will not open, you are usually low on storage. Removing one unused app is normally enough.
- Use Ethernet if your Fire Stick supports it. It is the single biggest improvement you can make to picture stability.
