You’ll need: your playlist details (M3U URL or Xtream Codes login), a Firestick remote, and Wi-Fi.

1) Install the Downloader app

  1. Open the Appstore on your Fire TV → search for Downloader (by AFTVnews) → Get / Download.
  2. If search doesn’t show it in your region, go to Appstore → Utilities and install from there.

Downloader is the official tool to open a URL or enter a short numeric code to fetch an APK directly.

2) Enable “Install unknown apps”

  1. Settings → My Fire TV (or Device & Software) → Developer options.
  2. Install unknown apps (or Apps from Unknown Sources on older versions) → turn Downloader to ON.
  3. Don’t see Developer options? Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight your device name, and press the Select button 7× to reveal Developer options. Then return and enable Downloader.

You can turn this off again later if you like.

3) Open Downloader and enter a code

Downloader accepts a full URL or a short numeric code. We publish our current codes on the Downloads page.

How to enter a code

  1. Open Downloader → select the URL field.
  2. Type the code (e.g., 5811661) and press Go.
  3. Downloader opens the link and offers the APK—choose Download.

4) Install the APK

  1. When the APK finishes downloading, choose Install.
  2. After it installs, select Open (or Done → you can delete the APK file to save space).

5) Add your playlist (M3U or Xtream)

IPTV Smarters / 8K Players

  1. Open the app → Add User / Add Playlist.
  2. Pick M3U URL and paste your link or use Xtream Codes (server/host, username, password).
  3. Finish → channels load. Add EPG URL under EPG settings if needed.

TiviMate / TVMate 8K

  1. Open → Settings → Playlists → Add playlist.
  2. Choose M3U and paste your link (or choose Xtream and enter host/user/pass).
  3. Optional: add your EPG URL for full guide data.

Don’t share your credentials. Treat them like a password.

Troubleshooting & Tips

  • Can’t find Downloader in search? Open Appstore → Utilities. If still missing in your region, try installing from the Amazon product page on your phone/PC and deliver to your Fire TV.
  • “Install unknown apps” missing? Reveal Developer options by going to Settings → My Fire TV → About and pressing Select on your device name 7×.
  • Buffering? Use 5GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet (adapter), avoid VPNs with high latency, and try our recommended hosts from the Downloads page.
  • EPG empty? Add your provider’s XMLTV/EPG URL in the app’s EPG settings.
